1. Keep a list of things you want and shop often. You never know what will show up in a Goodwill store. If you didn't find it today, there’s a great chance that it will be there tomorrow.

2. Give yourself plenty of time to shop at Goodwill. There are so many unique items that you'll want to have plenty of time to make sure you don't miss anything.

3. Make sure to try it on before you buy it. All of our stores have dressing rooms and you'll be happier when you get home if you've made sure it fits.

4. Look the item over closely. Sometimes replacing a button or two is a small price to pay for a beautiful vintage sweater.

5. Get creative. Learn to see the hidden treasures. You may not like that painting, but that frame would look great on a print you have at home. With a little work, that table might be perfect in your kitchen nook.
