How Your Donations Help

Every 57 seconds of every business day, someone who has been helped by Goodwill gets a job and comes closer to achieving personal and financial independence – thanks to the Goodwill Industries movement and you.

Goodwill accepts your new or gently used items — like clothing, appliances and furniture — and sells them in our Goodwill retail stores.

The sales of your donations help fund job training and other career services that help people become successful at work.

Goodwill donors may also choose to make a
financial contribution. Regardless of how you contribute, we are grateful for your support. Thanks to your donations, in 2007, Goodwill Industries of Northeast Indiana was able to directly serve more than 581 people.

Goodwill encourages you to donate wisely.

Not all organizations that collect donations make the best use of them. Some thrift stores solicit donations under the name of a charity, but as little as 5 percent of the money generated from these donations may actually go to the charity. Goodwill is consistently ranked among top charities that make your donations go further.
